In the City of Pottsville, the search for an assistant city administrator, authority and grants manager has been narrowed to two finalists.
During City Council’s monthly meeting on Monday, City Administrator Robert Straebel provided an update on the recruitment for the position.
From an initial pool of 18 applicants, and through the City’s Fair Hiring Board, that list was shortened to five, with four ultimately being interviewed after one dropped out. From there, two finalists emerged. Straebel then asked for a council member to be appointed to the interview committee, with representatives from the parking and redevelopment authorities.
That appointment came later in the meeting, when council voted unanimously to appoint Councilman Andy Wollyung to the Interview Committee.
During the meeting, Straebel stated he anticipated interviews to take place sometime “this week or early next week.”
