53-year-old James Lake of Barnesville was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Medical Center East in Pottsville following a motorcycle accident in Blythe Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police in an information release, around 4:26 pm, Lake was driving a 2023 Triumph Tiger motorcycle. It is reported he lost control during a left-hand turn on Mountain Road near the intersection of Tumbling Run Road while entering a left-hand curve.
State Police state the motorcycle was overturned on the left-hand side before travelling across the roadway and came to a rest along the right shoulder.
Lake was reported to the Lehigh Valley Medical Center East, where life-saving measures were attempted but unsuccessful.
It is reported that Lake was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and that no other vehicle was involved.
