A Barnesville man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Rush Township Sunday evening.

According to an information release, Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene at the 200 block of Grier Avenue. Police report that 31-year-old Austin Didgen, a pedestrian, had entered the roadway before being struck by a 2020 Honda Civic that was traveling northbound.

Troopers report providing aid to the Didgen before he was transported by EMS to St. Luke’s Miners Campus, where it is stated police were advised  Didgen was pronounced deceased.

Troop L, Forensics Service Unit and Collision and Accident Reconstruction units were among those assisting on the scene, as were Ryan Township EMS, Tamaqua EMS, MedEvac4 and Fire Department Personnel.
