Drivers in Carbon and Luzerne counties should plan accordingly, as a traffic shift is coming to Interstate 80 as part of the I-80 Lehigh River Bridge Project, which is expected to begin at 9:00 pm, June 21st, weather permitting.
According to the announcement released by PennDOT and Bridging Pennsylvania Developers, the contractor will “shift the current I-80 eastbound traffic to the left to place a Latex Modified Concrete overlay on the right side of the new eastbound bridge.”
Motorists should expect a short-term lane closure during the shift.
